An amateur genealogist since the 1980s when, as an adoptee, searched for and found both parents and other family members. Member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and currently serving as the Secretary of the New Jersey chapter. A member of the Genealogical Society of New Jersey, the Illinois State Genealogical Society, the Utah Genealogical Association, and several additional localized societies. Also, a member of the Roger Williams Family Association and a former member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Contributing member of a number of community service activities ranging from transcriptions to serving as an adoption search angel, and volunteering at Ellis Island and Thomas Edison National Historic Parks.
