Shannon Byers' research focuses on unclaimed person cases. She is the CEO and founder of NOKfinders which provides research services to solve unclaimed person cases and NOKfinders Academy which provides experiential learning for aspiring forensic genealogists.
She holds several degrees including a Masters of Science (University of Maine) and a Masters of Business Administration (University of Maine). She has 19 years of experience in the biomedical research field and applies her research, analysis and writing skills to genealogical projects.
She holds a certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University.
She has participated in various institutes and workshops including Fundamentals of Forensic Genealogy at SLIG Academy and Advanced Forensic Genealogy at Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP). She is enrolled in ProGen 60.
