Holly was head of the genealogy and local history archive at the Onondaga County Public Library where she spearheaded several major projects opening up the collection increasing its access and discoverability to the public. In addition she worked with genealogy patrons for over a decade gaining a hands-on, working knowledge of New York records and repositories.
In 2017 she began taking private clients and has worked on a variety of brick walls, lineage society applications and more.

In addition to 10+ years working as a reference librarian in a genealogy archive, Holly spent 2 years working on grants for the Pomeroy Foundation, helping local communities submit grants for the historical roadside marker program. While taking private clients she has worked on forensic projects with several law firms, written lineage applications (successfully), dual citizenship applications, and by far the most work with clients has been with brick walls related to pre-1850 ancestors in New York State.
