ProGen Member Overview

Candace is a professional genealogist who specializes in Southern U.S. research. With a background in education, she enjoys teaching local genealogy classes and is currently participating in ProGen Certification Practicum 05 in preparation for BCG certification.

Candace’s interest in genealogy began in 1995 when she received her paternal grandmother’s family research. Soon after, a maternal great-aunt mailed her a thirty-page typed letter detailing their family’s history, followed by the gift of a beautiful tin box filled with her mother’s ancestral letters and photographs. Those treasures sparked a passion for genealogy that has only grown stronger over the years.
