ProGen Member Overview

Diana Elder AGⓇ is a professional genealogist accredited in the Gulf South region of the United States. Diana serves as a Commissioner for The International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen) and works with a team producing videos for the ICAPGen YouTube channel on skill building and credentialing.

Diana is the creator of the “Research Like a Pro” study group and e-Course. With her daughter, Nicole Dyer, she co-hosts the Research Like a Pro Genealogy Podcast. They share research tips on their website, FamilyLocket.com. As the co-owner of Family Locket Genealogists, Diana leads a research team of talented, professional genealogists.


Education

Diana has Bachelors Degree in Education from Brigham Young University. She teaches regularly at genealogy conferences such as RootsTech and the National Genealogy Society Conference. She also presents webinars and seminars to local genealogy societies across the United States. Diana teaches each year at the Brigham Young University Education Week and was selected to be part of the virtual Education Week program for 2020, sharing how she solved a family mystery using DNA.


Experience

Diana started researching her family in 2002 and has worked professionally for the last five years helping her clients solve complicated genealogical problems. She consults on a variety of topics such as helping her clients learn how to use their DNA test results, get organized with their own family history collection, or improve their research skills. Diana has solved adoptee cases, uncovered fascinating family stories, and helped her clients make progress on long-standing brick walls.
