I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where my love of genealogy was ignited by my grandmother’s stories and dedication to research. After completing a PhD in English and Medieval Studies at UC Berkeley in 2019, I decided to become a professional genealogist. My work as a genealogist is informed by the writing, editing, research, and analysis skills I developed during my graduate work. Particular specialties include Southern research, genetic genealogy, land research, and probate research.
