I've always had an interest in history, reading biographies and writing down the stories I heard about my (extended) family. Building my family tree was a distant goal. In 2020, I retired and formally started to pursue that goal. I completed the Boston University Principles course which provided me with the tools to get started, and then in 2021, I completed and received my Certificate in Genealogical Research from BU. That challenging course opened my eyes to much more of the profession and it's now a passion that I want to pursue as a "second career". I completed a genealogical writing course at GRIP this year and will complete GenProof 78 in November 2022 and ProGen 56 in December 2022.
I am a veteran of the United States Air Force and a spouse of a retired Air Force colonel/aviator, and forensic genealogy related to lost military members (repatriation) is an avenue that I would like to pursue one day.
