Dr. Hill has been doing genealogy for over 30 years. She started with her family. This led to other relatives and their spouses. From there, her research led to other friends and families. Taking a Principles class with Boston University solidified Dr. Hill's decision to proceed with a professional career in genealogy. She received the Paul E. Sluby, Sr. African American Scholarship through BCG. Dr. Hill is also cultivating her expertise by working towards obtaining Board Certification in Genealogy.

As an experienced researcher with a qualitative and quantitative background, Dr. Hill plans to mesh her skills in academic research with genealogy. Combining the two, she plans to create unexplored ways of looking at genealogy from different perspectives within various fields. She has 30+ years of research in genealogy with her family and in recent years she has explored adoptive families and families in Europe.
Dr. Hill has multiple publications in research. Recently, she lead research about her family that was placed in an Archival Library in Lagrange Texas.
