ProGen Member Overview

I have spent 25 years connecting people with the information they need as both a librarian and a genealogist.

My passion for family history began when I started researching my maternal line. My 2nd and 3rd great grandmothers faced so many hardships but they survived and that's why I am here today.

My focus is United States family history in the 19th and 20th centuries and DNA adoption cases.

Education

My genealogical education is ongoing through attending webinars & workshops, listening to podcasts, and reading books & articles.

I have participated in formal genealogical trainings including:
Midwest African American Genealogical Institute (MAAGI)
GRIP Genealogy Institute: Tools and Strategies for African-American Research
National Genealogical Society's American Genealogical Studies (AGS): The Basics

Formal Education
Bachelor's in History, UC Santa Cruz
Masters in Library and Information Science, San Jose State
Paralegal Certificate, Boston University
