Steve is an alum of GenProof 50 Study Group and was a Group Leader for the ProGen 35 Study Group. Although he first became interested in genealogy at a young age, he has been conducting genealogical research on a professional level since 2018. Through previous employment, he has gained more than a decade of experience related to the oil & gas industry in environmental issues, piping and instrumentation, vessel design, and GIS Mapping. As well, he is certified in Petroleum Land Management.
Steve has also been a 26-year volunteer County Coordinator for the USGenWeb and Archives, formerly a webmaster for the Russell County, Kentucky Historical Society. He currently serves as administrator for the Descendants of Lawrence Conner & Margaret Blane Facebook Group.
